In someone else's words....

Photographing weddings in a truly photojournalistic style (i.e. "fly on the wall") requires great skill - many photographers profess to be a master of this skill but in reality very few actually are and their resulting pictures look little more than a collection of snapshots any other guest at the wedding with a halfway decent camera could have taken. In short - the photographs are at best disappointing and the most common comment I hear from couples after encountering such a photographer is "He was there the whole day and I don't even have one picture I can put on my wall!".

Photojournalism - sometimes called "reportage" or "documentary" style photography requires the photographer not only to be able to predict the moment they are going to press the shutter release on the camera, knowing they have captured something special that was about to happen, but also the skill to position themselves in the most advantageous position to take that all important picture so that the subject is naturally framed and isolated from their background. In other words they create an unforgettable picture out of a fleeting moment.

Very rarely I come across someone who does this particularly well. Ryan Browne is one such photographer. A look through the galleries on his website and you feel like you are taking a walk around the wedding, mingling amongst the guests with Ryan - such is his talent for capturing precious moments. The expressions - be it the love between two people, the welling emotion during the ceremony or speeches or the carefree happiness of children taking part at their first wedding - are just beautiful and time after time portray that as Ryan went about the all important task of documenting the day he was unnoticed by those he was photographing. This makes the photographs even more precious as Ryan sees and documents events unseen by all but a few. The selection of pictures presented to the bride and groom after the wedding always delight as they find out what REALLY happened on their wedding day!

But it doesn't stop there with Ryan around...once the lights go down and when many photographers prefer to take their leave, Ryan with his unsurpassed creative lighting skills sets about the business of creating some high impact images. These are the pictures that make other brides to be stop in their tracks and say "Wow - who was your photographer? I want him for my wedding...." It is these photographs that have gained Ryan a reputation to be envied amongst the wedding photography industry and a business which sees most of his peak dates booked between 18 - 12 months in advance - such is the demand for his services. So if you like what you see on his website I would urge you to book Ryan without any hesitation. There is, you understand, only one Ryan Browne - his vision of your day will ensure it remains as special as you always knew it would be.
